THE FRANCHISE GUIDEBOOK

Local franchise marketing

Plan approved local franchise marketing with accurate business information, manageable tests, clear measures, and reliable customer follow-up.

Start with the customer journey

Choose a specific service or buying occasion. Identify how the customer discovers the business, what they need to know, and what happens after an inquiry. Look for missing information, delayed responses, or a mismatch between an offer and available capacity. More promotion is not automatically the right response to a broken handoff.

Clarify brand approvals and ownership

Confirm who controls location pages, business profiles, campaigns, photographs, and customer responses. Check the franchise’s approval process before creating a new local presence or publishing an offer. Document access and responsibilities so that important accounts do not depend on one person’s memory. Use accurate descriptions of what the location actually provides.

Keep search claims realistic

Google’s guidance emphasizes complete and accurate information and describes relevance, distance, and prominence as local-ranking factors. It does not offer a way to pay for a better organic local ranking. Maintain useful profiles without promising a particular position, lead volume, or revenue result. Follow the policies of each platform and protect customer information.

Run a manageable test

Set one hypothesis, an approved message, a budget limit, a responsible person, and a review date. Define the result consistently: inquiries, bookings, completed service, and repeat customers are not interchangeable measures. Review the full journey with operations before expanding an activity. The 90-day article provides an illustrative sequence, not a guaranteed campaign outcome.
